shopped out
Weeeeee!
I am fresh off a high of shopping and martinis. That is to say, I am in my pajamas now, pretending to do homework. Mom, Mand and I went shopping yesterday, and I got two pairs of pants and sunglasses and these shoes:
for a thirty-eight dollars. :)
Then, I felt quite SATC, going to meet my friend Nik at the Bamboo Club for martinis and appetizers. My dirty martini had the most delicious olives in it!
My beef with Wes Anderson: his films are pretty scant on strong female leading characters. Angelica Houston is usually there, as the matriarchal ideal, but you don't see much in the way of smart, autonomous girls. I am thinking about that only because I was trying to decide which W.A. character I was. The ones I ended up choosing were male characters who happen to have traits I identify with. I feel like Wes needs to have a sit down with J.J. and learn a thing or two about strong female leads.
There, that's my minute of feminism for you. Hey, that could be a pitch for a t.v. show, or a radio spot, or a SNL sketch: "Nic's feminist minute". I think it'd be a huge success...right up there with "Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy"...
So this is what it looks like outside:
let's move to Barbados.

yeah, let's move to some place tropical . . . but i don't like bugs (seems like tropical bugs are pretty bad) and really i do like sweaters and happy winter clothes . . . hmmm . . .
what do you new sunglasses look like? of course every time i see a pair i think of you--some part of me really want you to have pink risky business ones . . .
nice tiny rant on the wes anderson front. honestly i have not thought that deeply about it (perhaps haven't seen enough of his movies to have that solid of an opinion). i have said it before--film is the art which i know the least about! i must learn more . . .
