grace-associations

What do you think of when you think of the word "grace"?

I think grace...sounds like "ice"...ssssssss...skaters on a glassy pond, swirly and slick and gliding.

I think of the Three Graces. Remember the Uffizi? What graceful lines Boticelli contrived for his graces, and I read today that they each had names:
Aglala - splendor
Euphrosyne - merriment and pleasant state of mind
Thalia - blooming life

i think of the Hebrew translation, which most literally means "favor". Not as we Westerners know it, as in, "Hey, can I do you a favor?" Less of an action word, and more of a state-of-being; I have found favor in your sight. Being let into a place where one has no right to be, by One who is under no obligation to allow it. Belonging. Grace.

Grace-ce-ce-ce-ce....sh-sh-sh-sh...

Holding a sleeping baby, soft and warm. Soothing, slumber, peace. Grace.
