So, for this Rosh Hoshana, I have found a lovely outfit from our favorite "man-on-the-fashion-street", Sartorialist. I could BE her, I swear...
A lovely bit of black and white pattern, in honor of the new year...
The new year is supposed to be sweet. Here is a sweet piece of textile sculpture that I think is fabulous:
Fall is here at last! Time for sweaters and scarves and hot tea to soothe scratchy throats~which I am fighting off today:(

lovely picture i found on the satorialist today.
it made me think about what we were talking about today in regards to wearing randomly cute and fashionable clothes. i feel like these people have pulled off the perfect balance of random and fashionable while managing to look comfortable. thank the lord for happy italian hipsters.

hello friend :)
here are some happy images i've rustled up today...
a "couch" crocheted from random chairs...
This is an interesting project. It's called stain, and it is so fascinating to me! It makes me think of my friend, Patrick, and his ideas about ceramics being useful as a necessity to their being beautiful...
hope that your wednesday is going well! I miss you...
luv.

decorating tip #2
get cozy. it's important.
I love the delicate screenprinting on this pillow!
These rock-pillows are kind of amazing...I want twelve! They are made of felted wool.
This is a story I came across while searching for all things 'pillow'. A tremendous pillow fight in downtown Buenos Ares. You can read about it here.
...maybe our next trip should be to Argentina?

fashion week: my picks
You are right about one thing: surprisingly subdued. Even some of the models look bored (as opposed to pissed, which is how they usually look...)
of course, I loved vera. the chunky necklaces were really working for me.
reem acra is always a fav. retro flowy dresses meets futuristic metallics...
Do I love grecian sandals, or do i despise them? which...one...is...it....?
surprising barbie-inspired freshness?
you can never go wrong with oscar de la renta.
ok, now I really need to do something productive!

fashion week . . .
what do you think? with the exception of marc (by marc jacobs) everything is really subtle. and even the marc pieces have lots of neutrals with some burst of color. hmm, think i read someplace that these collections were city intellectual. i'm not quite certain how clothing can be particularly intellectual but that certainly is a description that i would like to embody.

decorating tip #1
find some fabulous dishes.
I know you probably have everyday dishes, but maybe some fancy china is in order? Such a big-girl event like 'your first place' definitely warrants it. I found these at trixie delicious. The name itself made me think of you with a smile.

happy second week of school.
so yesterday i realized that it is in fact september. should have realized that, oh . . .9 days ago but i was unaware. along with that came the happy thought that in two weeks kristine and aaron will be starting to move out! am sooo excited to have space to myself--frisky-free space!! space to myself makes rent to myself not seem so bad . . .
anywho, i will want your long distance decorating tips in a month or so, as you are now the queen of curtains and organizational acoutrements!!

btw, this was sort of a boring blog entry. much more email that blog post . . . i'll have to be more interesting later . . .
