I am sooooo sorry to hear about your traumatic bug experience, lovely.
It is especially awful to not be able to sleep. Ugh.
However, in an effort to bolster your courage (and foster a better night's sleep in the future?) I have compiled a short list of friendly, nice-looking bugs.

A lady bug is always genteel and very non-scary.

sometimes children like bugs....so they can't be all bad, right?

If all else fails, ask yourself this question: "Was the bug scary, or was it merely trying to show me it's new boots?"

can't sleep can't sleep can't sleep!!! there was a huge bug in my bathroom-i never have bugs in this apt!! i saw him and he saw me and we were both stunned but he moved first. i ran to get a big book to smash him with (that's the only way i can kill bugs) but then i had to grab a book i like a little less in case bug guts got on it and by the time i was back he was gone. ewwwww! since i was wide awake and way too stimulated, i began to clean and bug spray the whole place and search for any signs of vermin! you know my place is clean!! in the entire time i have lived her i have seen 2 spiders and a few ants in the bathroom . . . so where did this giant bug come from??? i can only hope my bug spray and bleach have scared him back into hiding never to return . . .

all the same i am sleeping with the hall light on (bugs don't like light right??) and the can of spray ready y my bed side with it's lid off.

ugh.

now i just need the appropriate event to wear it to . . .
